Halloween In The Books

I won't say how many Halloweens I've seen, but I'm sure regular readers know it's a considerable amount by now, and Halloween 2014 has the distinction as the most miserable to date in my book. It snowed, it sleeted, it blew, and BLEW. Trick-or-treaters stayed away or were shivering and wet by the time they returned home.

And the best part is a tree blew down, took out some power lines, and my electricity with it-- for 23 hours! Yes, my house was pretty cold by the time the lights came back on.  Now that's scary!!

Hope your Halloween was better!

  4. Oh no, sorry your Halloween was so scary! Very quiet here as no one has youngsters anymore and we are Waaay to far out of town for anyone to make the trek. Hope things have smartened up in your neck of the woods, it's too early for winter to be rearing it's head!

  5. Oh my goodness, that was nasty weather! We just had wind and cold temps here (first hard freeze came Halloween night), but no storms. Hope you didn't have any property damage.

  6. Halloween went quietly here. it was the last of uour nice weather. temperature has dropped now and very cold. We lost a tree a couple of weeks back in the storms that lashed the UK. Odd thing is that neither of us heard it go. one minute you looked out the back and it was against the sky line and then a minute later just an empty space where it had been. No damage just the resulting mess that had to be cut up and carted off to the tip. Mind you the birds were a tad confused sitting on the fence the next day looking for their tree. We had the seed feeders hanging in there so ended up having to buy a wrought iron feeder pole to hang them from. hugs Mrs A.
